Weapon Master question

Just one thing I found while trying to build a Weapon Master..

..Whirlwind Attack is a prereq. for this PrC, and so are Expertise, Dodge and Mobility, that are prereqs. for WWA, but Spring Attack is not listed. Is it an error (not mentioned in the S&F Errata, nor changed in the WM version in OA)?

Well, since you need spring attack for WWA you need to get it either way. Soem classes do require feats but not all the feat prerequites. Sometimes there are different ways to get certain abilities, but I've not seen any other way to get WWA.

It would be an oversight, not necessarily an error. After all, its a foregone conclusion that you must have Spring Attack, because you can't have Whirlwind Attack without it.

I don't see anything in the S&F errata about it though.

Whirlwind

The way I see it is kind of simple... you need to have the WWA feat before you qualify for the Kensei/WM PrC. Which means, that most of the time you will also need the Spring Attack feat, as SA is a prereq for WWA.

However, if you though some means acquire the WWA feat, without Spring Attack, you still meet the prereq's to join the Kensei/WM PrC.

How would you get WWA, without the prereq's for it? Well, I can't cite any examples of this specific case, but there are hundreds of PrC's that give you a feat, even if you do not meet the prereqs for that feat. (Granted, not all PrCs are created equal but a number of WotC PrCs do this...)

But, like I said, I've yet to see a case where you can get WWA, without SA, but it could happen based on current precedents.

"Ah-ha! My fiendish OA bias strikes agian!"
