I start this thread for all of us Enworldians to try and clear up any confusion of weapons and the materials they are made up of. This should help IC during battle sequences for people who don't the function or extents of some weaponry.
I will start off with the basic type of weapons my characters use and hope that many others will contribute.
Sai: These dagger-like blades are, I suppose, used more by those of a limber and athletic form. They can be effectively used in close combat for a while I would think and probably more effective in a crowded area more then lengthy and weighty weapons. For more:

Crossbow: Two-handed weapons that require little skill to use effectively. They are ungainly and take a while to load their ammo, bolts. They have the advantage of shooting in a straight line as well. Crossbow
Long Sword: Having a straight, double-edged blade upwards to and beyond 35 inches in length. They weigh usually between 2 and 5 pounds. An entirely offensive weapon.
Long Sword
Scythe: Depending on the scythe the blade is either curved and perpendicular to the handle Or upright and straightened out. The later option makes it more of an lance like weapon. The disadvantages of a just a unmodified scythe is their ungainly weight and length.

Mace: A standard mace is usually between 2 and 3 feet in length. Flanged maces have a head with protruding metal. This allows for the piercing of armor. The main disadvantage is that the wielder must first swing back their arm in order to obtain maximum damage.
Mace
Flail: These weapons usually have a spiked head which is separated from the hand by a small length of chain. The advantage of this is that it can curve around anything that may be in the way and that the vibrations are not transferred back to the wielder.
Flail
Whip: Usually have a flexible length and a stiff handle. Capable of breaking the sound barrier. Either having a single 'tail' or multiple 'tails' which is used to inflict the damage.
Nodachi: Long, two-handed Japanese swords. The hilts varied around 13 inches in length. Its range and weight allow it to exceed that of a katana. They share the same curved blade as katanas as well. But do the ungainly size and weight are not suitable for indoor combat.
A side note. Remember the laws of physics and that the above weapons are the standard variants. They due not account for any modifications to said weapons IC by me or any other.
