What are they going to call wizards?

I join the club of people wanting sorcerer and wizard to merge into mage... But then again, I think I've heard that this will not be the case...

Something very general like Arcanist would be very appropriate. Wizard's magic is called Arcane.

Magic-User was named such to be very general. We're supposed to give it more context in the world. The same could be done with Arcanist.
