What are we all reading?

A Darkness at Sethanon, the fourth book in the Riftwar Saga, involves a prolonged siege.

Also check out Rage of A Demon King and Shards of a Broken Crown, also by Feist. These are the last two books of his series set ~100 years after the Riftwar sage, with lots and lots of battles, cities blowing up, and other fun stuff.

That's right, I'd forgotten about those. But then, to be entirely honest, I really disliked the Serpentwar Saga. I'm of the firm belief that there are two Raymond E. Feists in this world, and that the one who wrote the Riftwar is not the same one who wrote the Serpentwar.

But hey, that's just me. Don't let me stop anyone from picking 'em up. :)

The next novel I'm going to read is The Redemption of Althalus by David Eddings.
Very predictible... probably the worst book they've written to date. But at least it's over in one book instead of five.

Just finished the last book in the councelors and kings trilogy,

So, what did you think? I've bought the first two but havent read them yet.

I adored Elaines previous work - I especially love Danilo, and really wish her idea to do a Khelben book gets off the ground one day.

Speaking of Ray, the first book (Talon) in the next series will be out soonish. There's an extract here .

He also has a new story in the new Thieves World anthology.

The what?!?!?!?

When did this come out?! Why haven't I heard about it?! Is it available now? Is it all new plotlines and characters, or does it tie in with the old stuff?

Not yet. All I know is what Ray posted to his list the other day:

"I should mention I've got a new story, "One to Go," in the new Thieve's World: Turning Point collection, edited by Lynn Abbey. Should be out later this year."

Here's a link to Amazon for some other details... .

It came out in June. I have it, and read it. Excellent work. Fantastic. I even started a thread about it back then but no one wanted to talk about it.

It's one book, not a collection of short stories. THe plot line has been pushed forward 50 years. That is all I'm telling, cause anything would be spoilers.

Edit: Scrath that, I'm talking about the book Sanctuary, not the Anthology. Sorry. Still, it's thieves world.

The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. After I'm done with it, I'll tackle The Lost World & Other Stories, by the same author.
