If I had to choose just one it'd be Hazy Shade of Winter.

I love cold weather, and here in Scottsdale, we don't get true winter weather, but when I am in that element I absolutely love it.

My love of hair bands will show proudly....

Another Rose has a Thorn by Poison
Slow enough to sing with. Easy to learn. Matched my mindset at times.

Something to Believe In by Poison
Really says it all. I am always looking for something to believe in, to respect, but can not find much out there.

Paradise City by Guns and Roses
Makes me at peace though my imagery is of beautiful women on a rolling hillside valley with the sun and clouds.

Nothing but a Good Time by Poison
I work two full time jobs. I'm sure you can figure it out.

We didn't start the Fire by Billy Joel
Love it, says much but no way in heck I can keep up with it.

American Pie Don McLean
Americanna

Jack and Jill by John Cougar Mellencamp
Americanna

For the sad times, Dry Your Eyes by The Streets. It captures the moment of being dumped so perfectly that I choke up when I hear it:

So then I move my hand up from down by my side
It's shakin’, my life is crashin’ before my eyes
Turn the palm of my hand up to face the skies
Touch the bottom of her chin and let out a sigh
‘Cause I can’t imagine my life without you and me
There’s things I can’t imagine doin’, things I can’t imagine seein’
It weren't supposed to be easy, surely
Please, please, I beg you please
She brings her hands up towards where my hands rested
She wraps her fingers round mine with the softness she’s blessed with
She peels away my fingers, looks at me and then gestures
By pushin’ my hand away to my chest, from hers

For optimism, Drive by Incubus. It also reminds me of a special woman in my life.

It's driven me before, it seems to be the way
That everyone else get around
Lately, I'm beginning to find that when I drive myself, my light is found
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes yeah

I like Drive, by Incubus. Good song. I think Incubus is a good band. :)

There are far too many songs that speak to me in a personal way to list here.

One that sticks out though is the one in my sig (the second half).
"Guinness For Two" by Mckenna.

Here and now we are less
then we were nearly yesterday.
Death is a mystery to those left behind.
So we offer a chorus to those gone before us
and one in particular shines.

For different reasons at different times, I pull strength, sadness, hope, and glory from Beethoven's 9th Symphony, especially the 4th movement (the Ode to Joy).

When I am really angry (usually over nondiscussable political issues), I get Pop Will Eat Itself's Ich Bin Ein Auslander running in my head.

And when I am profoundly moved and hopeful, I hear Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes.

Then again, I feel that we have been gypped in life -- everyone should have a personal soundtrack running so that people know our mood all the time, just like in the movies! ;)
