D&D General What class is this character, and is she wearing armor?

She appears to be an elf or half elf, so the hovering crystal could just be a cantrip.
What she is wearing could just be travelling clothes: other than a couple of pieces of decorative metal on the gloves and what might just be backpack straps, she doesn't appear to be wearing armour.
Could be any class.

I guess it could be worse. She could have been wearing the not-really-a-thing studded leather armor

Although her shoulders seem reinforced (at least the one we can see), and she's wearing some small metal vambraces over her gloves, I wouldn't say this constitutes a "suit" of leather armor since she doesn't even appear to be wearing a breastplate of boiled leather. Therefore, I agree that this character is wearing "no armor". A member of a class that grants armor proficiency is very likely going to wear it, so, in 5E, this is going to be a monk, sorcerer, or wizard, or possibly a barbarian.

Eta: On second thought, the intent of the artwork seems to be a depiction of an armored character, and it's possible what she's wearing could be interpreted as a gambeson, so I'm going to say she's wearing light armor which opens the field of classes to everything since light armor proficiency could be picked up from some other source.

I don't know. With the size of my Carhart, a person would have a pretty good chance of missing my actual frame with a stabbing weapon... that's assuming it made it through the material. And given that I have kids with a woman from Bloody Harlan, stabbing is always a possibility.

If that’s a gambeson she is extremely malnourished. Gambesons are THICC

I was thinking of something like this,
Kolder%2C_ca._1660-1670.jpg

which although it's used in the wikipedia article on gambesons, appears to be more of a 17th century buff coat, so I guess I'll go back to no armor in the picture, although, again, it does seem to be an attempt to depict a fantasy version of armor. I.e. the bodice she's wearing seems to be made of some rather stiff leather.
