D&D 5E (2024) What do people think of the new dragon designs?

Fun fact: I did actually cry when we were shown this dragon.

I really like it. It's a great call back to the original version, while still keeping a bit of newer design.

I love the two people(?) in the left foreground who are trying to get a look at it. You have to wonder how far away they are that they can look so big and still have the dragon be HUGE.

No probs. I'll always have the 3.0/3.5 look as the main ones in my games. The new ones can always be used as images for unique/named dragon NPCs.

I just remembered that we also got two other piece of dragon art during the earlier wave of news for the Revised Core book. Another red dragon, and a black dragon.

Love the look, with the exception of the wings.

They either need to be big enough to look like they could actually function as wings - within a reasonable allowance for suspension of disbelief, of course - or they should not be there at all, in my opinion.

I don’t like the tails (esp the bronze dragon) but it doesn’t matter much because in my homebrew every dragon is unique and “colors” are just the laughable attempt by mortal sages to categorize the uncategorizable. Pathetic really.

I think the art is stunning. I think the design of the gold dragon is absolutely terrible.

It's a flying serpent with a full body wing, to provide enough lift. I love it.
