What Do You Appreciate From Your DM(s)

I appreciate my DM killing my character more than any other PC in the game. I appreciate my DM coming to my house nearly every week and gaming for hours and never paying for food or Diet Coke. I appreciate my DM borrowing my books for weeks at a time. I appreciate my DM telling me my character race are "pooftas". I appreciate my DM giving me a sword possessed by the god of tricks that steals my character's money, makes fun of my character, and always laughs when my character makes a mistake. I appreciate it even more that my character can never make the will save required to ditch said sword. :p

Actually, I appreciate my DM a ton. He works hard and makes the games a lot of fun. My DM rocks, and I hope he reads this and gets a laugh (and I secretly hope I don't die next session but, after this string of remarks I expect no mercy.) Thanks DMs everywhere.

One of my DMs is doing a great job of keeping secrets, not giving away too much information, and letting us do what we want -- no matter how foolish. That's fun.

My other DM is doing a great job of setting up tremendous battles for our PCs to participate in, and did a great job of setting up an over-plot that always provides us with something dangerous and important to do. That's also fun.

Yay DMs!

I appreciate both my GMs (D&D and CoC) for giving me the opportunity to play, and for letting us (the players) do what we want to do within their worlds.

I appreciate the other players in these games for being as dedicated as I am to being a part of the game and working with the setting. We don't have screw-offs, sleepers or contrarians in either group, and it's a joy to play with them.

Really now, shouldn't this be a late November thread?

I appreciate DMs who are willing to exchange tens if not hundreds of e-mails on a particular character concept until they get it just right...
