I enjoy all of the rampant speculation, flames, and general moaning and groaning going on about a product that hasn't been released yet. This is especially fun because only an NDA-shackled few have had a good look at more than a few crumbs worth. Many of the tweaks look good on their own, but I want to see how it works as a whole before I pass judgement.

Man. What a way to start a week. I better go get some coffee, this V-8 isn't helping my attitude..:D Of course, you'd expect some axe grinding from a guy named francisca...

The funny part is, I haven't seen anything I've really liked, yet. There are things that are nice, but nothing that makes me lose my mind in anticipation. :) Most of these things I'm already using, in the form of house rules - kinda makes 3E Revised the point, doesn't it? :)

I like most of what I've seen so far, other than no quicken or new skills for sorcerers, and the Arcane Trickster. Looks pretty good to me overall though.

The one I'm most excited about is the new DR rules. As I'm moving from Greyhawk back to my homebrew, I'm looking at all my old house rules and this one was at the top of the list. The new system sounds a lot like the one I used in 1E/2E, but I wasn't sure how I'd balance it with the DR damage value in 3E (rather than a flat "can't hurt me" in 2E). Having it listed in the MM will save me a fair amount of work, I imagine.

I'm also interested to see the Thaumaturge (which I didn't vote for because I haven't seen it yet). This is something else that may fit well in my homebrew.

Things I believe I'll like:
1) It will be released under the OGL coinciding with the release of the books.

2) More WOTC prestige classes will be OGLed.

3) Since number 2 is a known, its not much of a leap of faith to conclude that some of the better and more obviously needed feats from the splatbooks will be OGLed. Hopefull Expertise, Energy Substitution, Sculpt Spell, Large and in Charge and any others that got over a 5 in my polls.

Am I the only one who finds this particular turn of phrase hilarious? :D

OGLed. I like that. Then when you learn that the current version is on WotC's site, not the opensoucegaming site, you can be said to be Familiar with the OGL's New Destination, or FONDled.

Ahem.

I'll be good, now. Don't post the kitty.

NOT THE KITTY!
