More of a curiousity question. I have been looking to get into different miniature games. Anybody have any good suggestions? Mage Knight looked fairly interesting, and cheaper than Warhammer. ACS sounds cool, but is not even out yet, i don't think. I have heard a lot of good & bad about the D&D mini line, which I imagine everybody here is familiar with...so i dunno. Anybody have any comparisons or suggestions? I would think most of those games mini's would work in a pinch for d20 based games mini's?

I have a decent sized collection of D&D miniatures. The games fun although don't take my word for it as I have only played one full sized game. Also if you want cheap miniatures with a use in D&D this is probably your best bet.

The D&D Minis game is really fun...especially since its just simplified d20 Combat, so its easy to learn.
I also play HeroClix, but I've degraded to more of just collecting...Some of the minis are just too cool. Hawkeye forever! :)

I heartily recommend the excellent Warmachine miniatures game by Privateer Press! Every time I play it I find it more enjoyable. Very good because with the basic battleset boxed set for a faction, you get a fully playable selection of miniatures that is enough to play against any other battleset straight off. The range of troops is excellent, as is the balance, quality of miniatures, and 'fluff' of the game. Plus, having huge, steam-powered warjacks smashing each other around a battlefield is great fun :)

I just had another game this afternoon - I lost, but it never ceases to amaze me how tactical the game can be when one side has 4 models and the other 5 :D - that was a deep and strategic battle, with a total fo 9 models on the board!

I used to play the original Chainmail, back before it was a set of fantasy rules.

WRG Ancient/Medieval was also popular.

Haven't done much of anything since the late 70s...

Oh, played HeroClix twice -- had no idea who most of the characters were, since I don't read many comics...
