I used a Lich that was trying to ascend to godhhod. His cult was pervasive throughout the region.
In the Mutants and Masterminds game, the current big bad is a group of Alien Slugs from another dimension. They can enter living creatures and take over ala "The Hidden".
Next campaign, I won't know till I run it.
