What do you want in a shapeshifting class?

I see two great shapeshifting archetypes (which in context of 5e could become subclasses of a single shapeshifting class)

A shapeshifter specialized (or even restricted) to a single form, akin to lycantropy (presumably a combat-oriented one), and one that can shift swiftly between multiple forms, possibly changing from round to round (presumably a more utility-oriented character).
