Based on my own experience playing a knight (only lvl. 1, though, so its a bit limited), I can say that for some players a swap to knight will be more than worth the loss of dailies.
For my friend, who plays a dwarf tide-of-iron fighter, and who has a tremendous time using daily resources (he's a hoarder), it is my opinion that a swap to knight will make him much more powerful. That and getting rid of the distinction between combat challenge and opportunity attacks will be lovely.
Having Str as a racial now certainly doesnt' hurt either.
Indeed, the only problem with the swap is that the knight doesn't support the use of an axe, which is the dwarf's current weapon... however, if the next magic item we get is a hammer, that shouldn't be too much problem.
So, my guess is that when we start up again in November, his Dwarf will be much more effective rebuilt as a knight.
