anyone with 3 brain cells firing would prefer the peerless archer. Yeesh that thing was ugly, and if a PC combines it with deepwood and you've got DM nightmares for weeks. Or just a hell no that prestige class aint in my game as I so aptly put it.
I really like the arcane archer, IMO in real games(as opposed to hypotheticals) you can't depend upon multiple greater magic weapons on your arrows, and you blow through your 50 really quick. Arcane archer had them at all times no buff reliance needed. Of course a chained greater magic weapon covers the bow, the other party memebers main weapon and more arrows than you'll ever need.
