Well, since the Bo9S came out, Fighters should definately get a maneuver and stance progression, since they are supposed to be the class that... fights the best, and they have been heavily overshadowed and all but rendered completely obsolete by the Warblade.

Some extra skill points would be nice as well, as the fiction I've read usually has the characters in the "Fighter" role being not just skilled in combat, but skilled in general. I think giving them 4 skill points per level and adding all the skills that would make them better soldiers would be the best way to go; Knowledge: History (since they tied that into Military matters), Survival, Sense Motive (for recognizing feints in combat-because I think it's ridiculous that Rogues can easily outmaneuver Fighters in straight-up melee, and the "sizing up the competition" use for the skill that appears in various books), Spot, and maybe Heal (for first aid.)

See my friend doesn't believe that Warblades are that powerful. But then again he believes wizards are underpowered anyway.

Fighters should gain a feat every level, not every second level.

This avoids the dead level syndrome.

It is not overpowering the fighter, because so many of the fighters feats are situational. Offering more feats just means the fighter is a more able combatant, in more varied situations. With more feats, he can afford to specialise in more weapons.

Battle Senses (EX): A 10th level fighter gains a wariness of invisible opponents and ambushes. He gains blindsense of 15 feet.

I'd go for something like this as a fighter feat (tree). If for no other reason so the blind warrior or zen archer could be recreated.

Green,

On the basis that wizards are underpowered and deserve to be the best.

That's just his perspective, not mine.

Honestly? Something that's useful outside of combat, which will probably end up being "More skills and skill points".

A fighter hits things. When there is nothing to hit, the fighter is boring.

It isn't fun for a lot of people. Most everyone else can do something outside of combat, whether its scouting, or casting spells, or interacting with NPCs (more than "I'll crush your skull" which is not as effective as it sounds at, say, a state dinner). The fighter can't.

The fighter is just a Class, if the player can't find anything to do when not killing things, then the player is boreing.

You're making a fighter out to sound like a mindless thug instead of a skilled warrior.

The class is for those who want to fight, and be good at it. I think that getting feats more offten then others makes them already highly dangerous.

If they want things outside their killing class, then they should take other classes. Also, why don't the players take on outside skill: perform, music, painting...something that they'd have to roleplay. It would add more flavor to their charcter, and take him out of just being a hired sword, which a fighter never JUST has to be, thats only unless the player cant find anything else to do with him.
