What happened to Negative Plane Prot?

Okay so I am playing a cleric, and being informed in advance that I would be fighting undead I decided to take negative plane protection as one of my spell selections. Except it is no longer in the lists! surely not.
Does anyone know why this spell was dropped?

which makes it almost too good at 4th level.

from the SRD:

The subject is immune to all death spells, magical death effects, energy drain, and any negative energy effects.

Before it used to protect only against Death effects and spells (kinda weak I think). I'm happy with the new version, but this spell changed from useful to must have (kinda of like freedom of movement).

Which makes my Death Ward Full-plate an even better buy than before.

Because they merged it with death ward. They just did it.


And I don't think that it's a must have. It all depends on the enemy you are about to face..

which makes it almost too good at 4th level.

Don't forget they chopped the duration of death ward, so it is harder to go around protected all the time.
