What hasn't been done?

First Post
Many of us have been posting and reading the House Rules Forum for a long time now. We have seen many new classes (core, NPC, and prestige). We've had many new races and many feats that allow for such a degree of a custom character it is almost scarey. We have also seen many redundant things. I've noticed that in many threads people post their own version, or provide a link to it.

So, what's left? What areas are still left to create in?

Prestige classes, feats or skills that are meant for a social-interaction-heavy campaign.

There's already been six million slice-n-dice weapon master PrCs, using the longsword, katana, ginsu knife or whatever. A few along the lines of those in the Ink and Quill pdf from Bastion Press wouldn't go astray.

Cultural themes, and the different rules therein. How about African, Egyptian, Polynesian, Mayan, Roman, Sumerian (etc etc) based cultures and how the classes, feats and whatnot work in each culture.

I like this idea, but I like to keep role playing as role playing. When we make rules that allows rolls to count for roles, then we are getting away from role playing and becoming roll playing. I'm just thankful that sentence was on a message board so you can read the words. If spoken, that might be fairly confusing.

THis is something I'd like to see more from the publishers then from house rules people. This takes reasearch to get right. I would never attempt something culturely based without lots of ressearch.

Actually I do a Polynesian setting and am working on getting it to a publishible stage. I am Polynesian (NZ Maori), do have a Degree in Anthropology and am looking at doing my Masters researching Polynesia Myth so the research is done:)

What needs to be done

Communities - how do PCs fit into families, villages, counties, Countries. What obligations does a cleric have to her church or a rogue to the Theives guild.
What happens if your character is Mayor of Hommlet instead of a Stranger attracted by stories of the Temple?

I've yet to find good library rules for wizards here. I've also not seen a Pres Class that I absolutely wanted to play. I've liked many that I've seen but none that fleshed out a concept for me.

What ever happened to The Sword Styles threads from last year?

After getting Spells and Spellcraft, I don't need library rules. You ar eright that the creations here lack concept for rule, and that is something that needs changing.
