Copypasta of my campaign notes intro:
It is The First Age, a Golden Age, where the world is young and new and the gods walk among mortals. Though the monstrous and evil are not unheard of (or even particularly uncommon), benevolent deities with active, capable, and prosperous followers are firmly in charge of the world, creating a stable and basically safe society. Population is amazingly high (around ten billion sentient mortals in an area only 40% the size of modern Earth), but most sentient creatures live in extremely dense mega-cities, the largest of which is Union City, making vast stretches of wilderness more common than settlements. As the world is only a few hundred years old, neither gods nor mortals are yet aware that such Golden First Ages usually end in unspeakably horrible catastrophes...
