D&D 5E What (if anything) do you find "wrong" with 5E?

Well, lots of people make the argument that D&D is good for every genre, and not just "a specific slice of the fantasy genre." If that claim is true, then the tweet writer has a point, no?
I don't think that claim has ever been true, though.

D&D has always worn its very specific inspirations on its sleeve.

~Looks at the Horror, the Fairy Tale, Dungeon Punk, Greek Myth, and Space Fantasy D&D settings~

Yup. Very specific. Completely justified in handcuffing creativity.
Ok, that is very true. D&D's gone into a lot of different aesthetics and themes since its original inception. I still don't think the tweet makes complete sense, because it's not obligated to represent every fantasy concept out there that exists. That's what I have beef with, I guess.

This tweet is so weird.

Why should any and every character concept be allowed in a game like D&D which is representing a specific slice of the fantasy genre?
because it is the big guy of RPGs people want what they like to be in the popular rule set so they even get the option of playing it and people hate the mother may I game that end up with dms.
why is that any worse then what was the nature of your human mother and human father's relationship?
are you not aware of power dynamics? a dragon is by nature longer lived, often more intelligent, more physically powerful and even more wealthy if they want to rule a nation it does not take them long, it would be like you dating a particularly smart bee.
It's true, Dragonborn seem like lizardmen with breath weapons.
well given that a dragon is just a flying fire-breathing lizard that is to be expected.
I feel like dragonborn are like anti-teiflings.

Planescape fans aside, the teifling makeover was giving people what they wanted: the cool half demon, free of the randomize appearance and more matching the pop cultural devil.

Dragonborn seemed to be designed specifically to deny everything people wanted from dragons to their players except the breath weapon.

However, even with a lackluster mechanical design, they're still popular. I attribute it to making them cultural paladins, but I really don't know.
nah it is the pure I get to play a dragon dude which surprisingly few games let you do.
Have you never run Tomb of Hormones?

Great adventure! I recommend it! :D
is this a real thing?

Well, in my experience, folks want to have wings and be able to fly along with the breath weapon. How you manage these things alongside ordinary humans, elves, dorfs, etc... without limitations is beyond me?
