anyway i didnt mean what i said as a racist remark, the japanise do have a history of a very rigid society where lawfulness is often prefered over goodliness. add to that the power and hautiness with which they treat outsiders and it just seems to fit.

No, not really not through their whole history, and not the historical period me and the OP were speaking about.

It doesn't matter what they are...
The only thing that matters is that they will be the best.
Look at most any Rp and Asia, or the equiv...is the best.
White Wolf-the Kindered of the East's powers are far more deadly...
Rifts-look at their tec compared to others.
Werewolf-they can changed into Skarks..and other wild and crazy breeds not just wolves.

In any Asian style game they are always Kung Fu masters with unlimited power who can jump over a building and swing a sword twice the size of their body while keeping their pointed hair intact.
Their not built for anything but ANIME.
So, it doesn't matter what they are. They are the best.

Kung-fu is chinese. Just saying. (and I think the word would be Wushu, in fact)
Hobgoblins may be cool, but Eberronise them a bit.
And even in anime, japaneses are NOT always the best... there is a trend of self-irony, even of criticism; look at the frank honesty about the war era in the Souten no Ken manga...
