What Is A Good D&D Mini Set To Start On?

Olaf, if you don't come right finding a Storm Archer, drop me a note and I'll post you one of mine ;).

Thanks Echohawk. That's a very kind gesture. I'll have a look around for a bit more and get back to you if I still can't find one.

Just another example of why I think that EN World rocks. :D

My wife just rang me to tell me that my Aberrations starter set arrived in the post this morning. Hopefully I get a better rare than a Giant Fiendish Praying Mantis this time around.

No luck on the rare again (I got a Chuul). The rest of the minis were almost all useful though. I got:

Common
Man-At-Arms
Gnoll
Silent Wolf Goblin
Elf Warrior
Fiendish Dire Weasel
Myconid Guard
Mountain Orc
Celestial Black Bear

Uncommon
Orc Sergeant
Formian Warrior
Ethereal Filcher

Rare
Chuul

I will get use out of all of the minis except for the Fiendish Dire Weasel, The Myconid Guard (which I now have 2 of :) ), the Fiendish Dire Weasel and the Chuul. Normally the Ethereal Filcher and the Formian Warrior would also be wasted but it just so happens that they are in the next adventure that I plan on running! :D

I also bought 25 random Uncommon minis. I won't be doing that again. There were no large minis in there and almost all of them where minis that I could either take or leave. Unfortunatly I don't think that they were as "random" as I thought they might be. Oh well, call it a learning experience.

Chuul is actually one of the ones that I most wanted to get from that set. Never did find one.

I would trade it to you but it seems that the shipping costs for just one mini are extremely high as I recently found out. :(

Why were you after that mini in particular? It doesn't really appeal to me.

Chuuls rarely do. Aboleths (if they ever make any) would be way cooler to have IMHO.

As it stands I just need to start making a case purchase some time in 2007...

Maybe when I get rich.

Any good fiends yet Olaf?

Does a fiendish dire weasel and a fiendish giant praying mantis count? :\

Let's just say no! :)
