What is the maximum number of attacks per round?

reveal

Adventurer
I have a 5th level Fighter/3rd level Order of the Bow Initiate.

Right now, my BAB allows me 2 attacks per round. I also have Rapid Shot, which allows me one extra attack per round, at a -2 of course.

My question is this: When I get into higher levels and my BAB allows me to attack four times per round is that it? Do I only get four, regardless of Rapid Shot or would I get 5, 4 from my BAB and one extra attack from Rapid Shot?

The limit is four iterative attacks from BAB.

Anything that yields extra attacks goes on top of that.

Weapon of Speed, Two Weapon Fighting chain, Rapid Shot, Crack of Fate, Expert Tactician, Cleave chain, Flurry of Blows, etc etc are not attacks from BAB, and are not limited by the "four from BAB" cap.

The limit is four iterative attacks from BAB.

Not that it really applies in this situation, but max attacks from BAB is 5 for a monk. It's worth noting that a monk cannot get more than 5 five attacks from BAB, even if they multiclass into a PrC with fighter BAB that allows reiterative attacks at -3 (the only case I can think of being the Drunken Master from S+F)

I can think of five, offhand:

Drunken Master (S&F), 10-level track, fighter BAB
Shou Disciple (UE), 5-level track, fighter BAB
Tatooed Monk (OA), 10-level track, monk BAB
Henshin Mystic (OA), 10-level track, monk BAB
Shintao Monk (OA), 10-level track, monk BAB

Possibly I've missed one in the OA, I'm not entirely sure. But Monk(5)/Shou(5)/Drunk(10) would, I believe, have a +17 or +18 BAB ... and, you're absolutely right, still only makes 5 attacks (plus any from flurry, lightning fists, a monk weapon of speed, etc).
