City of the Spider Queen.

[Minor spoilers]

I currently have the entire party trapped in a dead end, most with single-digit hit points, all spells over 2nd level are gone, and the only way out is past a Gargantuan Fiendish Spider and half a dozen angry drow.

It's the third session.

The poor doomed fools. 'Kick in the door' indeed.

City of the Spider Queen. For all the above reasons. :)

I also really liked Gary Gygax's Necropolis, Sunless Citadel, Forge of Fury, Bastion of Broken Souls, and the Rappan Athuk adventures.

I got lucky at a local shop and found NeMorin's Vault Printed Edition still sealed for $9.95. Seems like an excellent campaign starter with a solid story.

The Forge of Fury is a nice dungeon crawl. The WitchFire Trilogy is a solid choice. For me, the best is Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. It's a love or hate it module/campaign setting. Those that like it, love it. Those that don't, loathe it.

Edge of Dreams by Monkey God Enterprises. I picked it up free with another purchase at a clearance sale at my FLGS, and was incredibly impressed. Good plot, great layout, well organised, and very complete information for a lot of situations. It also belongs to that very small category of well done D20 mysteries, it was wonderful.

I was very sorry that I hadn't bought it at full price.

The Auld Grump who has also ordered All the King's Men, the plot of which sounds both very funny and very flavorful.

If you want a dungeon hack: Rappan Athuk 1-3

If you want a good intro, city based addy: Freeport Trilogy

If you want a small, local campaign area with a good mix of dungeons, towns, NPCs, and plotlines: Vault of Larin Karr. I have yet to find a module better than this one.
