What is YOUR pirate setting?

I be partial to the Forgotten Realms, actually. Sailin' the Nelanther out on the Sword Coast, or keelhaulin' the scalliwags in the Pirate Isles of the Sea of Fallen Stars.

I be likin' a flexible campaign setting.

Aye, Oi'm nay runnin' a pirate game righ' now, but once Oi'm done with me new settin', danny boy, sure'n there'll be a great deal of piracy of all kinds. Savvy?
Aye, but for me the piracy comes as I develop the setting, if you catch my drift...

Arr! I be using Salt & Sea Dogs and Pirates o' the Fallen Stars to aid me mates in the plunderin' o' the booty of the Sea of Fallen Stars.

I be running a game o' pixie pirates. The PCs are a band of swashbuckling faeries, given a letter o' marque by Queen Titania to go a'plunderin' and a raidin' all the lands of humanity. So far, there be no crew more bloodthirsty, more conninving and (thanks to the pixie arrows of memory loss) more forgetful than the crew of the Black Bunny...

Aye, me hearties,

Me be preferrin' those set in historical real world settings for swashbuckling adventures...but with a touch of fantasy mixed in. Fer' a pirate ain't a real pirate, till she's battled some undead scallawags.

arrrrr

Yar, I had too much rum in the evening and garbled me words. This here be the truth, so swears I.

Skull & Bones weighed anchor today and will be arriving in the distributors' ports in a week. Ye'll be seein' this beauty in stores the Monday after next.

Get ready to roll the bones!

Aye aye, Cap'n! I've had my glass on that book for a while. It's good to see it's sailing in our direction so soon.

EDIT: Smartly now, me lad. There's a difference between Arrr and Arrrgh after all. ;)

Aye, lad, tis so - but you see, Captain Pramas has been put to more than mortal paines by Skull & Bones and I reckon that "arrgh" comes to the fore, quicker than "arr' such tis'.

Now how am I to be answerin this thread's query when I wrote it meself, I ask ye all?

Fine, tis a sad dog that won't wag his own tail, says I. Skull & Bones is, my hand to the mast, my pirate setting. :D

Elsewise, I like 'em bloody, with tales o' revenge cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey.
