Pathfinder 1E What kind of creature could do this...?

What kind of creature could the Drow enslave to dig through The Darklands in order to create tunnels wide enough they could travel from Sekamina, up through Nar-Voth, and finally reach a limestone cavern on the surface world?

For example, my PCs live in Fusil, in Andoran. They are aware there are entrances to the Darklands in the Aspodell Mountains, but the Drow they're going to be facing have built tunnels from Sekamina which travel through Nar-Voth, and emerge in the Verduran Forest near Fusil. What kind of creature could make the tunnels through limestone and other dense materials in order to do this?

I know of the Purple Worm, that could probably fit the bill. But I'd also like to know of other ideas you might have.

Thanks a bunch, I think my PCs will have a blast discovering the tunnels they're going to be exploring were not man-made or natural, but instead were made by a gigantic beast under the Drow's control.

EDIT: Reading comprehension - I missed the "not manmade" part.

I'm guessing from the naming conventions that you're playing Pathfinder, but the creature that comes to mind are Umber Hulks. I think they can leave tunnels through stone.

I have a feeling they're Wizards of the Coast intellectual property - that's why they aren't in the 3.5e SRD. No reason they couldn't be imported into a Pathfinder home game, though.

Unfortunately, that's also true of the other good candidate for this - Beholders, which can use their Disintegrate eye-rays to blast out tunnel networks.

Yes, I am asking for Pathfinder. I guess I should have clarified that before

Thanks for those suggestions. I'll make a custom monster in Hero Lab to work just like Umberhulks.

I want to clarify what I'm asking here. I'd like these Drow to use a giant monster (either Huge or larger), who eats through the eart and leaves tunnels between 20-30' in diameter in its wake.

The Purple Worm is the only creature I can think of off hand that could do such a feat, so I'd like to know others who fit the bill. Or, do you think I'm better off just designing my own creature using the PW as a starting point and work from there?

There's a 3.5 monster called a Delver which is perfect for your needs. It's IP, but rumor has it there's a document full of forbidden creatures with disturbingly similar abilities.

Do you think the Trox would be a good substitute for an Umberhulk in PF? They're in Bestiary 4

They look pretty similar...

Of course, if you're going to import something out-of-canon, you could always go for something like this.

Using that as a starting point, I searched the deepest depths of the internets and found a monster called a "Delver" in Misfit Monsters Redeemed, and it's perfect! Thanks for the suggestion of the "Horta" bc without it, I wouldn't have found what I was looking for :D
