What kind of template...?

...would you give to an NPC who is a half-god?

Let's say you want a major NPC (good or bad, doesn't matter), that was the offspring of a greater deity. What types of immunities/resistances would they have? How powerful would you make them?

Any ideas or suggestions on a half-deity template would be awesome.

I'd extend the 1/2 Celestial/ 1/2 Fiend abilities to approximate something like a Solar, Planetar, or one of the greater Demons/Devils.

I'd wait for Deities & Demigods to come out.

That, or I'd use the stats for Bahamut (MotP, Dragon #272), Tiamat (MotP, Dragon #272) or Orcus (Dungeon #?). Definitely Orcus if the demigod can grant spells.

I guess that maybe a bit more info is needed. The NPC is a cleric, and I thought of making him a genasi, since he worships the elements. But, that wasn't really the power level I was looking for since I've already given him a few more abilities. I was looking at the Elemental Savant from T&B as well, since their more powerful abilities kind of mirror what I'm looking for. But, they still don't have that "edge".

Maybe It's something I could play into a bit more, with the man not knowing his heritage, nor the full extent of what he is capable of. Just as he gains clerical might he also finds that he has other "gifts".....

Try Half-Elemental if you want. Basicly, its to Gensai what Half-Celestial is to Aasmiar. You can find it in the MotP or in RttToEE. Don't know if thats the power level you want but there it is.

I have two half-deities in a campaign. It doesn't matter what their stats are because neither of them will ever get into combat. One is incapable of committing an act of violence, and the other is so powerful that when he goes into combat he can't control himself. A simple swing from a sword can slice a foe in half, and then send the sword hurtling from his hands and into someone else's forehead. It makes little to no sense, but my players are easily pleased.
