• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

What module are you running?

I'm also planning on running "Transmuter's Last Touch" shortly - I'm combining it with "Into the Wilds", so as to make a nasty feud between the kobolds of "Last Touch" and the goblins of "Wilds". Should be fun.

My big change to "Last Touch" is going to be:

Tezax, the chief kobold ... well, now he's a vampire kobold. With the Swarm Shifter template of "Swarm of Undead Sand", from Libris Mortis. I've always wanted a long-term kobold villain in a campaign - this should do the trick.

More long-term, I'm planning on running "Expedition to Castle Ravenloft". I'm extremely impressed with this one - the content and the detail in the adventure is amazing (IMHO, anyway).

Prepping to run DCC35A: Halls of the Minotaur for my Saturday group to start the next campaign.

Also possibly starting up a Sunday group, if I do it will be exclusively published adventures. I'm not 100% sure what I'll start with. Maybe Into the Wilds or something from The Adventure Begins, but we may be starting at 6th level, in which case I'm not sure what exactly I'll do, but I have half a mind to do a conversion of / variation on C1

I'm running The Shackled City, and will be playing in The Lost City in a PBeM. I'm also working on semi-simplifying The Lost City for my six-year-old son, and possibly some of his friends. So far I don't need to "simplify" it very much, since I handle all of the DM work, and about half of the player work.

On that note, does anyone have suggestions for helping non-readers/new-readers to keep track of what they have in their backpacks? I was planning on doing a drawing of the backpack and all it's contents, but my artistic skills are pretty weak. The "Ye Olde Fast Pack" makes picking and choosing easy, but where can you find clip-art that might represent the objects in the pack? Freebies would be best.

Just a thought, but I would suggest using item cards, one card per item. You'll still want pictures, but having a tangible card that the young players pull out and use may help vs. a list/grouping of items. You can put all the cards in a small envelope representing the backpack (or just use a rubber band) and have the player pull out a card when pulling something from their pack. For instance, when they use a torch, have the player put a red mark on it and place the card in front of them. When it burns out, remove the torch card.

As for clip art, if you have it, start with MS Word, using Google image search for the more esoteric stuff.

I'm running Age of Worms. After 15 months and 22 sessions, the party is almost through Ch. 5: The Champion's Belt. Last session was particularly satisfying with some great combats.

Soon, it is on to Ch. 6 A Gathering of Winds and a chance to use my WotC Huge Black Dragon iconic mini.

I too am planning to run this when my group next gets together (friends' new baby derailed things for a bit). Since I have a lot of time to plan, I'm constantly changing it. First, like Crothians group, the party will be strong 2nd-level characters, so it needs beefing up. Second, I want to make the flavor a bit creepier. ....snipped out spoilers.... I'm also kicking around ideas on some adventures from Goodman Games' The Adventure Begins, but nothing definite yet.
Those are some darn cool ideas! I admit I haven't read the adventure from cover to cover, but what if the corridors
were organic, moist, dank tubules, not unlike walking through the inside of a giant intestine?

Again, I very quickly scanned the adventure so that may not be in keeping with it's flavor, but it's certainly an "icky" idea.

I'm running Red Hand of Doom for my players. We just finished the first encounter, which was way tougher for them than I thought it would be. Now I'm looking for maps of the subsequent encounters. :)

Cheers

Kind of fun to see how many are converting older modules and running with them. Also, couple others using Lost City of Barakus. I'm hoping my group picks up again next weekend.

I like it -
That could easily be areas 1-4 and 1-5. Along the same lines, I might go with the whole Aliens theme, with organic walls and such. Hmm...maybe I should give the brigands spider climb?
