What, no Stargate threads?

Unfortunately I've had to miss a couple of the episodes thanks to doing other things Friday night, but I finally got to watch both SG-1 and Atlantis this week.

I'm finally glad to see the Gennai guy dead, and in a good old fashion gunslinger manner to boot.

I pretty much stopped watching when they added that woman from Farscape. She really creeps me out. I also don't find Beau Bridges too plausible as a General (given his politics), which ruins both shows for me.

You don't like Claudia Black? How come? Personally I've always found her hot, despite her uncoventional features.

As for Stargate, I regret that I've never took the time to watch it, despite all the good things I've been hearing. On occasion I catch an episode or two on TV, and what I saw impressed me (but didn't wow me enough to keep watching). Perhaps I'll get it on DVD one day, but currently Doctor Who is occupying my attention. :)

Another note, did you all hear that Den Devlin and Roland Emmerich (creators of the original Stargate movie), are planning a sequel? One that doesn't follow the continuity of the series? Personally I think it's pretty s**t of them to just ignore fans of the tv series like that. But then again, why bother? I've always though they've sucked since their horrid Godzilla remake, so I'll not be rushing out to watch this planned sequel of theirs if it ever gets made.

My wife and I liked the Atlantis episode, but the Stargate Ep fell flat for us. It seemed like a placeholder before getting back to the story at hand. We wanna know what happened to Daniel!!!! Judging from the preview for next week we'll get our wish...

Are these episodes repeats? I'm pretty sure I've seen the rest of the season in question.

As to the Genai, he had a good death. It was worthy of his character.

Is this thread an example of what happens when someone mucks with the timeline? SG1 is no more, as far as I understand, and Atlantis is on break until July, no?

SG1 has the last ten epsiodes that are being shown now and Atlantis epiosdes are being shown right now as well.

I am a diehard SG1 fan I have been watching since they first showed on Showtime. As a fan of the show I think it would be great to see what Devlin and Emmerich have planned. Their vision was never the same as the TV series.

I know this idea has a lot of Stargate fans up in arms and yelling foul. But to be fair Devlin and Emmerich had their creation taken away from them and turned over to the series creators. I can see why they would like to see their creation finished there way. They had originally wanted to do a movie trilogy.

It is really no different than the original creator of V the mini series wanting to do a new version following the first mini series and ignoring the second mini series and the TV show, neither were his creation or vision.

I think there is plenty of room in the Stargate universe for both versions.
