What non-4e would you play if there was no OGL at all?

If no OGL alternative existed, what would you play now?

2nd try (as I didn't read the entire OP, just the title of the poll).

For Fantasy, I'd use B/X.
For SF, Mongoose Traveller.
For Modern Day, Witchcraft.
For Horror, Call of Cthulhu.

just wrapped up another session of OD&D(1974). only 1 character and 1 mount died in the party. 1 retired from adventuring due to a near death experience.

and 2 are unconscious.

If I had to pick just one, I would have to say GURPS. Technically, GURPS is 4th edition too(also Shadowrun), so I don't think that counts towards the results of this poll.

Something else.

[Edit: Probably Traveller, Manhunter, Lords of Creation, TWERPS, or Risus.]

Well, let's see...I currently play:
  • OD&D (1974) - not OGL, so no change.
  • Call of Cthulhu (BRP) - not OGL, so no change.
  • Mutant & Masterminds - OGL, so probably Champions

I've recently acquired (but haven't run):
  • Traveller (Mongoose) - I don't think it's OGL. If it is, I'd go for classic Traveller, instead.
  • Faery's Tale: Deluxe - Not OGL.
  • Mutant Future - OGL, so I'd go with 1e Gamma World

The loss of the OGL wouldn't hurt me, much system-wise. However, it would put a big hit on supplements for the systems I play. For example, with OD&D, I can use OSRIC modules, LL modules, C&C modules, Pied Piper modules, et cetera.

Previous edition of DnD with used books

Can I use the used books in my own collection of previous editions that I have played through the years or do I have to act like I am starting from scratch and buy new used books from other people who have played for years?

The thing is, that such OGL games do exist solely because the guy who first wrote the d20 OGL license, didn't do his job very well. He left a bad-wording / loophole that let publishers use the OGL to write their own independent systems that can now exist on their own without any concern for GSL and such. However, if the original lawyer had done his job properly, there wouldn't be any True20, C&C, Pathfinder, etc. available.

Oh, and that's a load of crap, btw, in case you really weren't just trying to be funny.
