What nostalgic movie would you love to see remade/revisted?

I have a number of "quibble" films that way.

Ladyhawk -- I would love to take out the soundtrack music and replace it with something better (which would be easy) and replace the damn helmets (bad football type). But I like the acting... ;)

Bladerunner -- I want the A-and-a-half version. Keep the Director's Cut ending, certainly!, but bring back a chunk of Decker's voiceovers -- gave it a better noir feel. Also without them you end up with a lot of dull dead time on the screen and many characterizations are given the short shrift. But again, I'd want to keep the acting, costuming, etc.

I could think of about half a dozen others if I put my mind to it, but these immediately leap to mind.

As for Clash of the Titans, wasn't once bad enough ;)

I read a story about the making of the movie that said Ford thought the narration was cheesy as hell as did Scott apparently(since it's not on the DC). So when Ford went in to do the track he just read the lines as deadpan as he could, thinking they would get dropped becuase they sucked. Well fans liked it and i've heard tons of people bitch about the lack of narration in the movie. I'd like to have the ability to turn it on and off myself.

I don't want to see any remakes. If the movies are that good, they stand on their own and remakes are just plain silly.
For the most part, true. But there are some special cases... a remake of a true classic would just be silly. However, there are a lot of movies where the original left something to be desired, but the story was sound. I'd think many of the 50s cheesy sci-fi movies and schlock from the 60s and 70s could be quite good, given a real budget.

I, for one, would like to see a new version of Day of the Triffids, for instance.

None, mostly because any 'true' remake would end up with more eye candy at the cost of everything else. And God forbid that those idiots in Hollyweird do some Political Correcting of old scripts *shudder*

Now, I might be convinced that a sequel or prequel would be do-able, but we'd run into the same problems (to a lesser degree) as with a remake, ie: Holywood idiots messing a good thing up.

I'd rather see one of the old Sinbad movies remade before Clash of the Titans. Titans had some good points, but it seemed too much time for too little movie.

Transformers Live Action? Why do I fear for that franchise now? Oh yah, see the above ;)

I'd like to see some movies updated with spiffier effects like War of the Worlds and The Day The Earth Stood Still. I'd also want to see The Seven Samurai remade, hopefully without Kurosawa rolling in his grave.

However Episode I through VI remakes wouldn't be so bad either without so much PC crap added in like Greedo firing first, etc.

War of the Worlds is actually in the works, Spielberg's directing and Tom Cruise is in it.

Yeah, but are they doing the book or the movie... ;)

Sorry, I love the book and can't stand that abysmal film from the 50s...
