Interesting. A TV miniseries remake of the movie Salem's Lot, which was a cinematic adaptation of a novel, which was a retelling of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

The first wasn't a "movie", it was a mini-series as well - two parts as I recall. I watched it, and a few times since on cable where it's now packagable as a one-shot when the commercial breaks are removed. Didn't see the remake, which rather suggests few other people did either. The original, while not overly spectacular was, I would say, good enough. David Souls performance was especially good. I suspect it was remade to attempt to take advantage of advances in effects and makeup technology.

A few more I thought of:

Caligula, except this time have Jenna Jameson in the movie.

I would like to see Star Wars redone as an animated movie.

Redo Disney's Black Cauldron, except this time use Ellidyr, and in fact someone else should just do the whole 5 (or was it 6?) book set as a series of anime or even a miniseries.

Off Topic: Isn't it interesting how Disney puts thier name on everything they do, yet not very much is original ideas?

god.. don't do the black caldron as anime. that would absolutely ruin it! i'd rather have it done as traditional animation. that anime is simply arrggg.

I remember reading the Black Cauldron books in intermediate school. A pretty good read.

I would love to see it done anime style!
