QFT. Hate to say it, but, if Eberron is any indication, there are still interesting new settings out there that D&D has yet to explore. I would much rather see something original, especially given that the fluff from these old settings is still usable.

The reason I choose Birthright is because, IMO, it's the only one I want to see that doesn't work in 3E. The bloodlines experiments done so far can be combined into one that ties into Birthright fluff.

In addition a domain management system, and a realms spell system haven't really been touched by WotC (I know a few 3rd parties have touched on domain-like systems). Both are assets.

The only other setting that needs new "rules" is Spelljammer (don't know enough about Maztica) and I don't want to see that setting revived (unless it is completely self-contained).

Birthright is the kewlest DnD setting ever. Even without the Domain management its a cool setting, Domain Management just makes it kewl (although they'd need to be streamlined for D20 use)

Kara-Tur and Al-Qadim were fun
The Known World has some appeal too

I voted for Spelljammer - and I could definitely get behind a completely self-contained version. Maybe they could use some of the old Eberron contest runners-up, or some of the other campaign worlds that have a fanbase but are not popular enough on their own to merit rerelease, to populate major worlds.....

Dark Sun baby. Yeah, the little thing they had in Dungeon and Dragon magazines a couple years back was pretty sweet, but I'd still like a nice big hardcover book with lots of support and monsters.

I voted for Greyhawk, Mystara, and Birthright. However, I would much rather see WOTC design a whole new world from scratch that incorporated some of the best features of many of these classic settings. The cultural variety and diversity of Mystara's "Known World," a dash of gothic horror from Ravenloft, nations or provinces/baronies/whatever designed for the purpose of PCs eventually running them (Birthright and a bit of "Known World"), and so on. Birthright was also cool in making a lot of the monsters legendary beasts and not just a run-of-the-mill gorgon/medusa/whatever.

Many of these settings were the product of the D&D/AD&D game of the time, and don't always translate that well. I loved the "Known World" when I played B/X D&D, but there are a lot of elements that are rather silly in hindsight (but a lot of great stuff too).

Or I'll just keep doing this with my homebrewed setting(s)...

At this rate, I won't see a republished Birthright in five years or so. Unacceptable. I demand more of you vote for Birthright!

I voted for Birthright (could you tell?) because I like its idea of divine bloodline, the conflict between nature & magic and civilization & religion, and the rich political game it affords. I also liked how it makes each monster a Monster - it has THE gorgon, not just A gorgon.

I voted for Greyhawk for providing three great evil threats (Iuz, the fallen Empire, and the Brotherhood), a rich tapestry of kingdoms and a struggle for a fallen throne, and many classic tropes of D&D.

I don't think a new setting is needed, the old ones are plenty good. If a new setting could highlight the new mechanics in an interesting manner, however, it might be interesting.

Birthright (but I'm partial - does it show much?) and then Dark Sun.

What I don't want to see is something like the flybys done in Dragon/Dungeon. You either support it or you leave it alone and let the fans do it. Unfortuneatly the days of the "official fansite" are pretty much gone with Gleemax so don't expect that "offical" moniker to be around anymore on those sites.
