I voted for Greyhawk, because I'd love to see at least one good Greyhawk hardcover for those of us who still run Greyhawk games. I don't expect a tremendous amount of support for it, but one decent hardcover for Greyhawk would really push me over the fence into playing 4E.

I wouldn't mind some sort of Kara Tur/OA type setting, but I'd like it to include different asian cultures than just Japanese with a dash of Chinese. Such a setting could be really cool with a significant section modeled after Indian and southeast asian mythology.

Other than these limited examples, I agree with some of the other posters that the brand-new edition needs a brand-new setting. If 4th edition is really going to be as different as it looks, any older settings (even Eberron) would be shoehorned into 4th edition. I'd rather have a setting designed from the ground up to account for the style of play that 4th edition is going for. I think that if the game is breaking new ground, the setting should as well.

Dark Sun
Spelljammer

I also marked Mystara & Other for one specific thing:

Red Steel aka The Savage Coast

Now that was a great swashbuckling fantasy version of D&D, and it sounds like 4e would be perfect for it.

I'll be very surprised if Planescape doesn't come out on top of this poll. It's the only old setting I've held on to just to have the material and reread every once in a while.

Your choices echoed mine. DARK SUN & SPELLJAMMER!! I also chose Mystara, mostly because I grew up on the setting, and I still love those old articles in Dragon for the Rakasta and Lupin variants (Scotty dog Lupin? Lion Rakasta? Heh)

I also chose Planescape.

Planescape. I don't care about Dark Sun, Spelljammer, Birthright, Mystara, Ravanloft... I can make everything on a Planascape campaign.

See, I can make everything on a Spelljammer campaign. :D

My entire 2E campaign was based on Spelljammer, and it allowed me to also use the other settings as needed. Planescape could have the same effect...

But Spelljammer had Giff. I loves me gun toting Giff.

Spelljammer first and foremost. If noone else does, I hold out hope that 4E will be simplified enough that I'll finally be tricked into really doing it myself (as I've started to so many times).

Greyhawk too. I'd really love to see the Auld Setting finally get its props even if I don't know that I'll run it. I'm really slightly mystified that it's been treated so much like a lunatic in the attic.

After that I have to agree - START OVER. Do something new. Doesn't have to be all that different - just new.
