What rocks on Xbox?

And the Japanese GC version will be at my apartment this afternoon. I'll post impressions after the weekend...

BTW ncsx.com is a great site for importing.

I've read lots of impressions at the gaming-age forums over the last week. All versions seem very good. It's also nice that the GC is so import friendly, but I'm still waiting for three reasons:

1) I like everything to be in english (admittedly, though, SC2 has to be one of the most import friendly games ever).

2) Namco may decide to throw in a few extras for the North American release.

3) I have too many games to play right now, as it is.

Play-asia is also a good import site, from what I understand. And speaking of imports, I am going to snag some of those Hori GameBoy Player controllers...

SNES nostalgic goodness. Yum.

Game cube is Import Friendly? How so? I've been debating picking one up anyways for a couple games, and this might push it over... (SC2 months early! WOOO!)

Just pick up the Freeloader or Action Replay (a 'cheat' device with Freeloader sofware). You can find them easily in most stores that sell videogames.

Basically, you pop in a disc, take it out, pop in the import game, and you're in business.

I've seen Freeloader for $20 and the Action Replay for $30 at Target. Not a bad deal considering the import functionality.

Hmmm. Sold.

And damn, I really didn't wanna spend 300 dollars ('cube, plus a couple games, that thing, and one of those controllers you posted a link to...) this month...

Lets see... Probably Skies of Arcadia Legends (The one that's been tempting me), and I'll import SC2...

(Goes off to find his checkbook and run some numbers)

Don't forget a memory card!

Well the free game offer is still going on so you'd get to choose between Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 0, Star Fox Adventures and Mario Party 4, so that's one more reason to get one now. There is also the Mario Sunshine/memory card bundle.

It's one of the reason I now have a GC. THe hard drive I got for my PC was defective and when in Cricuit City I saw the GC was $20 off and combining that with a free Metroid Prime and I just couldn't resist (the HD will have to wait).

Yeah, and buy the black one as it will hold many more saves for just a little more $$. :)

To me, that's not a choice. Gotta get Metroid. :D

If you like stealth action, Splinter Cell is an absolute must.

Morrowind is also a reallt great RPG. I'm hooked on the PC version now.

And of course, you can't go wrong with Halo.

Come on, you have to give RE0 a little consideration. Of course after that you summarily dismiss it, but still.
I am a HUGE Resident Evil fan and I adore every game in the series (even though I have yet to beat RE Zero) however the game simply isn't as good as Metroid Prime. It is a solid game and I enjoy it alot but it's not a game for everyone (younger kids should stay away) and is just a tweaked game compared to earlier games in the series. I simply found Prime more fun than Zero. It's a comparison of a good game verus a great game, to me. :)
