What RPG books do you have multiple copies of?

First Post
I found a copy of the 3.5 DMG in a used book store and it got me thinking, anyone else pick up multiple copies of RPG books? I usually don't unless I can it cheap like I did today.

None. Unless you count my Legions of Hell, Armies of the Abyss and now my Book of Fiends but that's not really the same thing. Or, my 3e + 3.5 MM. I haven't bothered with the rest of 3.5 yet.

Well, after I moved, I had to repurchess Dragonlords of Melnibone, Relics & Rituals, and Mystic Warriors because I had left both at my brother's house (and him not knowing RPGs at all would never have found them amongst the boxes of 1E/2E stuff and the few 3E/d20 books I didn't feel like taking with). I grabbed some of my books on my last visit, so now I've got two R&R's on-hand.

I have a few pdfs that I repurchased after a drive crash.

Otherwise, no, never bought additional copies "just because". Too many books I have 0 copies of to do so.

I own multiple copies of the Alternity PH, GMG, Dark Matter book, Star Drive book and a few others in the line.

I started running an Alternity Fantasy game and since it is OOP, I didn't want my players to have to buy the books. So, I bought them for them and loan them out. I have enough for my players in PHs and a few extra GMGs in case they want to look at it. I got extras in some of the other books to potentially put into better bindings, such as a D ring binder with clear holders to show the pages better. Haven't gotten around to doing that yet, though.

I think I still have a first printing 2E PH and DMG and a 2nd printing, with the black covers. By then, my PH had lost its spine, although the book was still together. The DMG was mostly okay, but obviously worn.

That's it for specific books that I can think of. Good question! Thanks!

most of them...

i buy copies to collect, to store, to use, to cut & paste

i have multiples of multiples for some of the editions. :D

Off the top of my head, I've got dupes of the following:

Dieties & Demigods (with Cthulhu & Elric)-found both of them at used book shops

3e Players Handbook-first copy was very beat up, so I bought another

Everyone Else (Revised) (PDF)-When I saw Revised, I bought a second copy, not realizing that the copy I bought the first time was the Revised edition...

Basic Set & Expert Set (Moldvay editions)-I have my original copies all beat to hell and all the pages falling apart, and nice clean copies I picked up on ebay

Several first edition modules that I've bought clean copies of because my old copies are falling apart

The only two books I own multiple copies of:

1st Edition Players Handbook - found a beat-up copy for $5.00 a few years back

3rd Edition GURPS core rules - found a used copy BETTER than my original copy, again for $5.00

All others? One does it for me, thanks. :)

I got Legions of Hell when I signed up for my Dragon subscription and when I renewed it they sent me ANOTHER copy of the same book. I was really hoping for Armies of the Abyss but ended giving the book to my player who always hosted the games.

Well, I owned both first and second printing copies of 3e Player's Handbok.

Me too - in fact, I had 3 PHB's from 3.0, since many players didn't have them (or wouldn't lug them to the game). I also had an extra copy of the 3.0 DMG and MM, which I was willing to loan to a player who wanted to try his hand at GM'ing.
