D&D 5E What Shall El Zardo Play?

I like twin because of the possibility of double concentration. Quicken is equally good mostly. I think the Goliath damage reduction makes you quite beefy. The other options are equally good though. There is not a lot to argue about divine weapon, but then you should have twin spell because you need that bonus action for the spiritual weapon activation.
AC 15 is plenty combined with the shield spell and the reaction. At level 1, 1d12+3 extra hp is nothing to sneeze at and you need to get to level 3 first to get divine weapon. There are also different level 2 spells I´d rather have than spiritual weapon. In my experience it has often not really paid off. The spell I am thinking of is shadow blade, which you should easily be able to keep up. With that in mind, maybe 17 Strength suffices, because you don´t have to get weapon master. But I don´t know what feat to get then. Probably Tasha´s guide will have a good one.

We are gonna have 2 others using green flame blade. Ones a bladesinger the others an arcane clerics using shillelagh.

Bear Totem Barbarian Bearfolk. Absolutely.
OR
Any other race cursed by a hag to become a bear. There are multiple myths of people turned into bears, so this has precedent.

So what about the good old variant human fighter with magic initate without green flame blade?
Your mini has sword and shield.

Make it use scale mail at level 1. Sword, shield. Try to become eldritch knight.
Probably defense fighting style.
Str 15+1
Dex 14
Con 14
Int 15+1
Wis 13 (-1)
Cha 12

Take firebolt and dancing light as your cantrips (I like dancing light because of its versality) and burning hands as an early level minion clearing spell.

If your mini is an elf, you can easily just be high elf, although I like the human versatility more. With those stats, elven bonuses are a bit wasted from a charop point of view.

The other idea would be going back to your Goliath fighter and just suck it up till level 3 when you finally become eldritch knight.

Yeah thought of doing something like that. I don't mind using GFB but I don't want to double down with a fire Sorcerer on top of it.

I was hoping for something like 16, 16, 14,14for stats.

Bearfolk bear totem barbarian has been looked at but I don't like the 15 AC bit and the party is low on healing with only the arcane cleric.

Hence why Goliath Fighter. Reduce the damage and heal yourself.

Not a fan of barbarians who want others to heal them from their own stupidity.

Yeah, they are the most sturdy characters you´ll find. With cold resistance baked in since errata they are a very good pick.
I also like the eldritch knight route for goliaths. Seems somehow fitting.
I won´t take green flame blade probably. Below level 5 it´s not that great and above that it won´t help that much either. It´s level 7 when it finally becomes a useful addition to your powers. And then I´d probably use booming blade for stickiness.mm
