Kind of implies instant death. Current assassin is weak sauce as an assassin and a rogue.
The instant death mechanic in 1E was pretty awesome .... when not used against the party.

We don't have an arcane half caster that is combat focused.Do we really need another one of these when we have Bladelocks, Bladesingers, Valor Bards, Eldritch Knights and Multiple Artificer subclasses?
Meanwhile over here trying to figure out which 3PP Gish I want to use between Kibbles, Llaserlama, Fanatic66... probably some others I'm forgettingWe don't have an arcane half caster that is combat focused.
It's an unique spell to round ratio.

Ah gotcha.Talking about which one to recommend as a DM.
Knight - heavy armour, chivalric code (in different variants), mounted proficiency, ability to defend others (some sort of one-person shield wall maybe), high consistent damage (as in, best of all classes) - a tank with real serious teeth. What possible thing could a non magical knight do that doesn’t also fit the warlord?
Assassin sounds good too but please, make it a full non-caster.Yeah I wish we could see an Int based mystical assassin and a monk-based gish.
To balance that out it would seem there should be 4 Strength martials, 3 Dexterity martials, and 3 Constitution martials, or something like that.I know this won’t be popular, but we don’t need another pure martial.
I think we need one more Wisdom and one more Intelligence caster, but in weird ways.
Right now we have:
4 Martials
3 Wisdom Casters
4 Charisma Casters
3 Intelligence Casters
