what spells can penetrate an antimagic field?

An Initiate of Mystra should (with a good caster level check) be able to cast any spells at a target inside an anti-magic shell.

Any instantaneous Conjuration(Creation), such as the Orb and Lesser Orb spells, works. There is also a higher level spell that allows you to overcome the AMF for a short duration and cast a single low level spell.

Complete Arcane.

It's not something I would take for granted, though. It's best to ask the DM (unless you are the DM, that is) about how they interact.

Some might find the thought of a conjuration spell conjuring non-magical force that is flying in some non-magical fashion into a zone of antimagic a bit too much to bear.

The other problem is whether AMF blocks Line of Effect or not. Customer Service and R&D have provided differing answers on the LOE & AMF question. In fact, they were going to write a "Rules of the Game" article about AMF, but it was to complicated for them to figure out.

The Orb spells really (really really really) should be Evocations, and SR should apply. the only one that even remotely makes sense as a Conjuration is the acid one, which is still cheesy at best. This would be houseruled in my games if anyone tried to use Complete Arcane (which they don't so it doesn't matter). This is a pretty common houserule among those that are picky enough to care about such details, and here have been many threads on this subject in the past. If you've ever heard anyone call Complete Arcane the Complete Conjurer, these spells are the reason.

Is there any reason you can't just use a crossbow? Is the low level spell limitation due to the fact that you're low level, or that you are just a low level caster (multiclassed, or a Ranger or something)?

Well, asking Customer Service is about as reliable as asking my mother for a D&D rules interpretation, so that's hardly surprising.

Everything that bypasses SR should work fine. Acid arrow, for example.

Or use magic indirectly. You can buff yourself (true strike and the like) or use the environment to your advantage.
