What Supplement Monsters Deserve a Promotion to Core?

I like the Nilshai from Unapproachable East myself, but I don't see them making the cut with no Ethereal Plane. :(

(Not that they couldn't be reworked to not mention the Ethereal easily, but I don't see the designers bothering.)

The Flail Snail, Flumph, Protein Polymorph...wait, what was the question again? ;)

Add to that list Nilbog, Screaming Devilkin, and Stwinger.

Actually, I'd like to see some old classics get the love they deserve. Firbolgs, jermlaine, vegepygmies, mongrelmen, tasloi, yakmen, island giants, zygoms, froghemoths, bullywugs, and aaracockra are a few that come to mind. I also wouldn't mind seeing slitherin from the CC make it into D&D 4. Don't know if they are open or not, though.

Nimblewright! Still my favorite 3e monster, it would also be great at showing off ways for a monster to benefit from the maneuvers system.

Phoenix. Should have been MM1 considering its importance to fantasy in general.

Worm that Walks. Too cool and creepy to leave out.

Draconians. Lose the dragonspawn for these, now that Dragonlance is back in-house.

I'd say the Mob template, but I'm fairly sure it won't be as useful in 4e, or at least won't be AS useful.

Also, Giff, Scro, Neogi, Beholderkin... pretty much anything from Spelljammer. :D

Where are the Kaorti from?

I'll have to think about this, but thusfar my big agreements are:

Kenku
Abeil (More intriguing than Formians)
Tomb Spiders.
The pseudonatural, spellstitched and Effigy template template from Complete Arcane.

On first glance:

MM2: banshee, clockwork horror, gem dragons, ixitxachitl, kopru, meenlock, morkoth, sirene, spellstitched, tauric creature

MM3: Dragon eel, drowned, woodling

FF: aquatic oozes, aquatic demons, dark ones, half-trolls, half-fey, kaorti, kelpie, mongrelfolk, octopus tree, sea dreake, selkie, vine horror

Stormwrack: All ;)

Lots of Monsters of Faerun creatures that weren't originally Faerun specific - abashai, bullywugs, leucrotta, perytons.

From the MM2, myconids, phoenix, banshees, morkoths, spawn of Kyuss

MM3's kenku, redcaps and splinterwaifs (I really like living spells, but I'm okay with them being Eberron-only)

From MM4, lodestone marauders, necrosis carnifex and the zern

From MMV, spirrax, banshrae and the elemental magi (refitting the ogre mage to be the elemental magus of water).

The froghemoth

And last but not least, yugoloths.

Demiurge out.
