What to do, what to do?

Tsk, tsk. They must learn that after one character sets off a prismatic spray trap, retreats for a while, and the whole party returns, if you aren't certain that it's been reset, try not to cluster everyone around the trapped door.

I rolled four fives in a row on the prismatic spray! Two survived, one dead, four turned to stone. Arcane caster and other survivor teleport away ... only to remember that they're still on the ethereal plane without a plane shift. Heck of a cliffhanger for next time, though I suspect everyone will show up with their backup characters.

Given this thread's discussion ... JoeBlank's character was one of the two survivors!

And I am (over)confident in howandwhy99's ability to run Ozzy. He says his favorite class to play is Wizard (Ozzy is a sorc, but close enough).

Believe me, if there is a TPK I will know that you guys did everything you could to prevent it. Have fun!
Results are posted on Yahoo. Fexter and Ozlo(Ozzy) are all that's left. He/She was a joy to run. I tried not to step on the others' toes whle playing both, which often means more screentime.

Actually I shouldn't take full credit that our two characters are still alive. When Filddle was going to set off the trap Fextor dove out of the room. Forgot about Ozzy that time. :heh: At least Ozzy made it or Fextor would be stuck ethereal in CotSQ with ghosts and banshees around. TPK.

Not what I expected. I guess not everyone in your games gets stoned . . .
What exactly would you say is the difference between being permanently stoned and being trapped on the ethereal plane?... :p

One is an altered state from which there is little likelihood of return and . . .

. . . the first is diaglo's preferred way of gaming!

well at the time we were in a rush due to the negative energy effects...

and the scout/arcane archer convinced us that the BBEGal and the MacGuffin were on the other side of the door.

a rushed search for a known trap was the best we could do... besides an attempted dispel.. either way would have resulted in the same outcome.

was just more fun to see what ray each of us got hit by...

i actually got the electricity blast too. but made my save, have evasion, and a minor ring of protection vs electricity... but the 3 negative lvls caused me to fail my save vs stone.

even after we had killed a CR 17 medusa to get here.

and my guess is the other two stoners will be replaced by former PCs.

Sam will bring back Eric... a human fighter/rogue we left in Ashabenford
and biorph will bring back Alya's brother Veridian... an elven male rogue.

Well, I picked the right guy to run my PC! I took my laptop to Disney and paid $10 per day extra for internet access just so I could find out what happened to Ozzy. (I managed to check my work email too, but that was just an extra bonus.)

My sorc even made 14th level, and will likely pick up limited wish, so she should be able to get out of her present situation. But I'll have to get deeper into the details before figuring out if the stoned PCs are able to be saved.
