What to do with "extra" skill points?

In the mid to high levels of play it seems like there are some skills that have diminishing returns when it comes to adding additional ranks. These are typically ones that are class skills and have been maxed out, have a good corresponding ability modifier, and any number of miscellaneous bonuses. Some classes do not have a lot of choices when it comes to class skills when playing by the RAW. So, when you get to the level there is no point in putting more ranks in skill X what do you do?

Options I can see are cross-class skills and skill tricks from Complete Scoundrel. Any one know of any more?

Given that I've never had a character with "extra" skill points, I'm not sure but:

Sense Motive
Diplomacy
Spot
Listen
Profession
Craft
Knowledge
...

Cross Class, even if its just one point, later when that happens again (if it happened once it could happen again) you can get that up to a full point.

Yah, for some skills, after a certain point there's just not a reason to keep putting points into them. For example, Balance and Climb both have DCs that don't climb infinitely.

In cases where I've had that happen (not often, but once or twice), I put the spare points into an interesting skill.

Like my (left-handed, goatee-bearded) tiefling rogue...he put a few points into Perform (Strings). And then he proceeded to walk around with a golden fiddle.

"Extra" skill points? What are they? But if I had any there are lots of skills they would be useful for. If nothing else, you can learn a new language if you have enough.

I've never had extra Skill Points. My problem has always been too few. Regardless of class.

Baffle Them With Bull!

IMHO, the best cross-class skill is Bluff ... especially if you get 5 ranks of it (i.e., 10 points).

Extra languages are also useful, although you might have to juggle your skill points a bit more to acquire them.
