D&D 5E What would you like to see in 5e books?

Hiya!

What would you personally like to see in any upcoming 5e books?

Whatever they are, I'd like to see sentences and wording like the following, sprinkled throughout as needed.

  • "NOTE: The DM may have a different method for calculating the specifics here, so consult with him/her as needed"
  • "As always, the DM is responsible for determining the exact interpretation of these rules"
  • "For further clarification ask your DM as he/she may have something pertaining to their campaign"
  • "The DM will determine if these options will be in use, if at all, or modify them as he/she sees fit"
...etc...

Other than that....I don't much care for 5e books coming out unless they are going to give me, a DM, ideas and things to use to make my job as DM easier and more fun (re: I want a Dungeoneers Survival Guide, a Wilderness Survival Guide, a Manual of the Planes, a Lord Flataroy's Guide to Fortifications, etc).

What do I NOT want? More PC races and/or more Feats. No thank you EVIL! ;)

It's been 6 years, I'm ready for 5.5.
I guess at this point I am already running 5.5 (or perhaps 4.5). We are constantly making tweaks to the game and there are so many resources out there to do it, I don't see a need for WotC to make a .5 edition. If they make a new edition, I would want it to be a big change.

My opinion is the 5.5. will be not paper-printered but update patch in the videogames. I guess WotC has learnt a system can right for a Computer RPG but not for the Tabletop game.

* You can't say there are too many PC races, because it's like to say there are too many monsters. The key is to create good PC races, with right racial traits and a interesting look.

* On of the future goals for d20 system is to create the right power balance if firearms and high-tech are added, and this is a true challenge. Do you remember videogames as "Resident Evil" or "Evil Within" where in the beginging is a survival horror and you need a lot of stealth, and later with enough weapons and ammos the PCs become one-man-army?

The version 5.5 will be in the phase after some videogames to be published, not only BG3.

I have no need for 5.5 or 6e. I'll just stick with 5e or play another RPG. As long as I role-play, a game I like, I'm happy. Doesn't have to be D&D.

I think at this point, most people would just be happy to hear that the Q3/Q4 releases haven't been delayed until 2021 as a result of the pandemic. Who cares what those books are, as long as we get them on time?

I have the opposite reaction. If the books aren't what I'm looking for, why would I care if they come out at all?
