What would you say to Orlando Bloom?

I just came across Orlando Bloom. He was walking his dog in the park I was crossing. I figured that he didn't want to be bothered by another geeky fan so I just smiled as I passed him and he smiled back.

If you had been in my situation, what would you have done or said?

"Good Morning."

EDIT: Oh, I almost forgot... This would invariably be accompanied by the cheerful *Ring-ring!* of my bicycle bell, as I pedal my way to work.

Good Morning. That is what I said when I passed Michael J. Fox on the street in Vermont a few years ago.

Of course if it was Orlando Bloom, and my wife was with me, I would probably be saying things like, "I'm sorry, here is your shirt. Please don't press charges against her."

normal greeting i give to passersby on the street. esp if it was just you and him.
That's one of the things I liked when I moved from London back up to the North East - people saying hello, not bumping into Orlando Bloom...

I would probably stare as I tried to compose my thoughts. Then I would WANT to say something simple, sane and collected, such as "I enjoy your work." In order to not go fangirl on him, I probably would limit myself to "Hi," and nod, and walk on. Then perhaps squee a little bit to myself.

It's kind of like where I work. I work at a Caribou Coffee in souteast Michigan. here, NHL hockey is a bit of a big deal. One of the Red Wings is a regular at my store. I admit that the first time I saw him, I got kind of stupid. But he's not all that talkative, and I figured "You know what? This guy does not need to be stopping for a cup of joe and have the Coffee Wench bugging him about his job." So now, on the rare occasion that I'm working during the time that he comes in, I get his usual, say "hey, mister!" like I do to all my regulars (the ladies get "hey, lady!"), ask if he's getting a paper and be done with it.

I dislike the way people do their best to ignore others when walking by. I like to look at people, smile, acknowledge their existence, say hello or good morning, or at least give a nod to them. I'm a bit introverted by nature, but I do this quite a bit.

I like when it makes somebody suddenly smile. Of course it really freaks some people out, but that can be fun in its own way, too.

Hey Zander! - how are you? I hope all is well. :)

In NYC, it's sort of an unwritten rule if you live here you don't talk or approach celebrities you see on the street. It is kind of fun when they start up a conversation with you though. I used to live in a building next to a famous Hollywood couple, and I'd see them all the time to the point where we would always stop and chat with each other whenever we ran into each other in the neighborhood.

I work in fundraising and development, so I get to meet famous and influential people all the time. For professional reasons I usually don't talk about it, but sometimes I do wish I could blab about. :)

But since I don't work in London, I probably would have said "hello", 'cause Orlando Bloom is cool. :)
