Whatever happened to Primus - the One & the Prime?

I recall that many years ago, a being known as Primus The One & The Prime, or something like that, was listed in one of early source books. I thought his presentation was quite cool and the memory of him has stuck with me.

I no longer have my old 1st/2nd edition books, but would like to bring him back in my campaign. I own many of the Wotc 3.0/3.5 books, but have found no reference to him. So, what happened to Primus? Did he vanish with the introduction of 3.0?

He was killed by Orcus. A new Primus is in charge, but the modrons have retreated into the depths of their plane. WotC is not using them anymore.

He didn't actually kill him. He did, however, severly wound him. I saw him in a local bar last summer. He was passed out in the corner with a bottle of tequila. I think he's still there.





Originally in the 1e MM II. I recall seeing 2e stats, but I can't recall where.

I guess it could have been a Secundus. They look pretty much like him. If he is dead, that would explain why it'd be drunk in a bar.

I know if my boss was gone, ....well, maybe not.

In all seriousness, Primus was killed by Orcus while he was Tenebrous, in the prologue of The Great Modron March. This information never plays a part in the adventure itself, so it was mostly window dressing. Huge, campaign shaking window dressing. Another modron ascended to take Primus' place, but I don't believe this happened during The Great Modron March because the epilogue has Tenebrous still in Primus' throne room.

The original Primus, now a distinct entity, was statted as a vestige in Dragon 341.
