At first I thought that my sig was self explanitory - but I guess I could go into detail
The e. Wiggens quote is a bit of a spoiler, but the book is a classic, so its sort of like saying you are going to spoil the ending for LotR.
Ender Wiggins is recruited into a space military school with other boys at 8?
He is told he is playing a military simulation of the human fleet he may command when he grows up. He is told that a famous general is doing the stratgey for the aliens. But he keeps having dreams, and he is so involved in the game that he skates along the edge of a meltdown. He wins the final battle, but it breaks him. The adults watching the game start cheering, as of course it wasn't really a game at all. It really speaks to the time and energy I invest in fantasy worlds.
The Quotes from recent games- our high lvl paty (14thish) knows there is one beholder in a cavern ahead of us. And we try for an hour to come up with a plan that is not guarenteed to kill at least one of us. Finally another divination reveals there are two aberations waiting for us - prolly 2 beholders.
We the druid summoned 6 dire badgers, then wildshaped to the same, supplemented by celestial badgers from the clerics of the party - and we dug a tunnel around the beholders, using passwall to create the first opening, and stoneshape to provide an tiny air shaft.
who knew my +11 in profession mining would prove so useful. We tunnled under 2 other major encounters over the next 2 sessions. We were caught coming out of the last one.
The quote from me, this character is a meele cleric and during the campaign's climatic battle I never swung my Dire Pick Axe, or cast any offensive spells. I spent the whole battle trying to manuver for postion, as the others ran interferance for me. I was whining a little at the end of it and had to be reminded that I had ended the quest by destroying the entire evil temple and all the drow it fell on. I felt more than a little silly about it.
