Rival Sons has been one of my favorite bands of the past decade. This is the song thAt put them on my radar:

A decade or so ago, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks started seeing each other and eventually got married. They also merged their bands, and have been pumping out great “classic”/southern rock albums ever since.

As I've gotten older I have founded it much harder to find newer music (I also find my emotional response to newer music is often not as strong as the older stuff: not sure if it has to do with style, the way things were mixed and recorded (newer mixes do seem to have a different effect on me for some reason), etc.

Same. But I'm hoping to catch lightning in a bottle again...

The band garbage has done some really good stuff last few years. If you liked then in the 90's one or two of their albums are better than back then.
