Yup TFA started off really well. Even then they kinda reskinned Rey with Luke's background.

Acting was decent, Kylo had a great introduction.

Eben it being a bit to familiar one can understand why after the Prequels. New TIEs were a hit to familiar though.
My takeaway in the theaters ilwas "this us what I wanted in 1999." I didn't need it to be an all-time classic, just pulpy fun

I find TFA to be a lot of fun, if very silly in a few places.

I like all the stuff with Luke, Rey, and Kylo in TLJ. The rest: ugh.

ROS has a few moments I love, and then...a bunch of things happen?

The Alien franchise is crossing its exoskeletal fingers and hoping for a few more stinkers from Star Wars to make the Aliens ratio look a lot better than it is.
I liked it when Ridley Scott was a such a terrible old bitter man that he went out of his way to ensure Neill Blomkamp's "Aliens 2" (as it were) didn't happen, just to keep the door even wider to making truly atrocious Alien prequels, seemingly in a valiant attempt to prove his success with Alien was entirely unintentional and he didn't even understand his own movie. Magnificent.

And yet Prey was really good lol.

I would love the post-RoS order to be run by boring nerds who took Student Government way too seriously in Space High School.

"Sorry, but after the last few decades, we don't want any charismatic folks in charge. We want the people who understand economics, infrastructure, epidemiology and all the rest calling the shots now."

Hell, it'd be fun to have a movie where Force users of all stripes are being hunted down by intelligence agents, just because they keep plunging the galaxy into chaos.
This was more or less Lucas's original plan for the sequels, actually. Leia as Chancellor of a new Republic that gets severely tested by basically Space al Qaeda led by Maul, and there's a faction of the fledgling government that wants to go all shock and awe on the terrorists while Leia desperately tries to hold to their peaceful ideals.
