Funny, I was just about to ask the same question... It's been well over a month since they've said anything on thier sites and the Monsternomicon is a bit past due... Whats the deal???

Well they made an announcement a while back about the Monsternomicon and setting book being pushed out.. I guess I was still expecting some sort of update or fresh preview or info on ironkingdoms.com

The whole thing with the War Machine miniature rules and figures is probably taking up a huge chunk of their time and following the lead of another miniature/rpg maker, Reaper, have decided that web site updates while important, must take a back seat to getting product out the door through finalized agrements and other behind the scenes goodies that we common folk are not allowed to see least it ruin the magic of role playing.

well you figure with them only having 1 artist doing all the drawings for, what, over 200+ monsters, it's gonna take a while to put out that material. Now i can appreciate having a single artist do all the work but to me it's a lil silly. Your delaying releasing a money making book by having one artist do all the work? Yes the Monster Manual didn't look spiffy but at least it came out and made some needed cash for WOTC. I can see someone doing this on a smaller book but color handdrawn sketches done by one person is a LOT of work!

Oh the setting? Forgetaboutit, that's been shelved until they come out with the monster book.

ETA: q4/2002 for the monster book, q2/2003 for the setting book. My guesstimate based on what i've read and seen so far.

I really dig the minis I saw at the GAMA Trade Show, and I hope the game does well for them. Launching a miniatures game business is a much more daunting task than putting out d20 materials (certainly enough to frighten me) but if anyone can make a run of it, it's the assembled talent at Privateer.

Of course, that didn't stop me from ribbing Matt W. about "When is Monsternomicon coming out?" when I stopped by his booth. :) Luckily for me, he was good natured about it.

We're alive!

I just wanted to post and let you know we are still here. Matt Staroscik is currently working on updating the websites and is going to let everyone know when he is finished.

As for the monsternomicon I don't want to say when it will be out, but I spent most of yesterday scanning art work for it so we are definitely in the later stages.

Thanks Nicole for the mention!
