I don't know why, but I had to go with Rogue. I wanted to pick something else, but as I sat here thinking of the characters I have played and my favorite characters. My rogue characters tend to be at the top more often than others. I like the number of skill points, the ability to be sneaky and backstab. I just have an overall appeal to the rogue (at least when it comes to lower level games). I love specializing my rogues.

My favorite character of mine of all times was a rogue who had a low DEX and high INT and CHA. She was someone not to be messed with, because she had many contacts. ::sigh:: too bad the DM didn't like her taking the evil wizards stuff without the rest of the party knowing because she knew one of the players would have used it for evil and another wanted to destroy it without first gaining some knowledge from it. I guess the DM didn't want her to keep balance within the group. Always a bummer when the DM kills your character because you role-play them according to their beliefs. :D

I voted cleric. I used to hate clerics because your fellow players would look at you very funny if you had spells left that weren't healing spells and with 3.0/3.5 that doesn't have to be the case (or if you are evil you can buy/make healing wands now with clearly codified rules)

Also, although clerics aren't as vaired and well thought out as some of the 2.0 clerics (although some of what went on there was cheezy) with domains you can have clerics of different gods look different and it's always the first step towards building a character concept since your cleric's personality should reflect the choice of domains or maybe it's the other way around...

and casting spells in full plate is the bomb

I'd say the Ranger.

Why?

Because I have not switched to 3.5 overall, but I so liked the new write-up in the SRD that I moved it into the game

Other than that, the changes were either so miniscule as to be unimportant or pretty much retrograde.

Cleric, usually multiclassed with fighter, ranger or barbarian. Barbarians would take a close second multiclassed with... well, almost anything except wizard.

So many good ones to choose from! I can't decide!

I chose ranger just because they were the most broke in 3.0 and got the best fix in 3.5 (IMO). But really, I like all of the 3.5 versions, and could have fun with any of them.

-The Gneech

Other: Soulknife. I don't care if they don't get psionic powers, the ability to create a blade of pure psychic power and go Jedi upside some poor Orc's head is just too cool to pass up.

Sorcerer. I love spellcasters, but I'm not big on the spell list creation. I would rarely change it anyway, so I might as well go for the extra castings per day.

I do enjoy bards as well, but I like more flash.

After agonizing over this poll, I finally decided to vote sorcerer. While others are high up on my list, including barbarian, fighter, bard, and rogue, I find that I like to multiclass with them to fit the character idea. But playing a single-classed character, I have had the most fun with my gnome sorcerer.

Away from the gaming table, reading countless spells and picking the right ones for him, especially after we converted to 3.5 and he had the option to swap spells. And then at the gaming table, having all his spells at my fingertips. Fun!
