What's Your Favorite Crime Movie?

Ronin, Heat, Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty, Scarface.

Especially Ronin and Heat. Ronin for the car chase, and Heat for the unbelievable tension, culminating in that heart-stopper of a shootout.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks that Reservoir Dogs is over-rated. It's a decent enough movie but I don't think it's the end all be all that most people think that it is.

KING OF NEW YORK on the other hand is very underrated as is MILLER'S CROSSING which is my favorite Cohen bros film. THE TAKING OF PELHAM 1-2-3 is another under-rated NY classic.

Also David Mamet's HEIST w/ Gene Hackman, Delroy Lindo, Ricky Jay and Danny DiVito has one of my favorite exchanges in any film ever.

Mickey (prone on the floor after being shot): Hey, wait don't you want to hear my last words?

Joe (closing the the double barrelled shotgun that he's just reloaded and aiming it squarely at Mickey's chest) : I just did.

BLAM!

Another Mamet classic that alot of people probably have not seen: HOUSE OF GAMES.

I can understand why people revere that movie. The movie was very entertaining and it showed us what was to come with Pulp Fiction. I actually saw it after Pulp Fiction and still enjoyed it, but that's beside the point. I think it gets lumped in with PF more often than not, to be honest.

I usually ask people that have seen Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown to rate them in order and typically it's the last of the 3 (which I agree with). For me, it boils down pretty easily: no Sam Jackson. Nnn, nnn.

It's also probably a Tarantino thing. The man does have his fans. ;)

Yeah, I'm a fan of Tarantino as well. I think he's one of hte few filmmakers who loves film and IT SHOWS, especially when you listen to him talk. Still I place RD pretty low on the Tarantino favorite list. For me it's Pulp, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill II, Kill Bill I & RD.

I'm a big fan of film noir and The Big Sleep is as cool as it gets.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Natural Born Killers though. If you want a crime spree, it's hard to beat.
